I-Fest Hands-on Class: Making a Scene

Here is another hands-on class you can sign up for at I-Fest 2010. Remember, you can’t register for hands-on classes if you haven’t registered for I-Fest yet! So what are you waiting for!

Making a Scene – Jim Scott

It’s your turn to make a scene. Scenery is the puppet’s environment. It’s time to give your puppets a place in their world. With a few strokes of a paint brush, even beginners can transport their audience anywhere you want to take them. Class members will work together as a team to complete 2 six-foot scenes which will be displayed in a public area of the conference. Class members will learn how to draw scenery onto fabric. They will also learn how to paint the scene using flat latex paint. Instruction will include: scenery tips, selecting scenes, drawing scenes, painting and mounting the scenery onto a puppet stage. Participants will also receive a 6-foot panel of blank fabric to take home to complete a scene on their own.

We’re giving you an advanced peek here. But if you call One Way Street’s events department they may be able to start signing people up…as long as you are already registered for I-Fest.
